Non - CDL Driver

Here, at the PTG Kroger Hometown Pickup operation out of East Gate Ohio, we have our focus on driver safety and customer satisfaction. Being safe on the road and courteous at the job site are the two mainstays of the job. We operate out of the Mt, Carmel Kroger store just off of 32 and this store operates as our main base of all outbound operations. At this main sight we maintain our commercial vehicles and ensure that they are in full working order before departing to local pickup locations by performing Pre-trips and other rudimentary equipment assessments. We load out our orders for the shift at this Kroger site and ensure that all orders are accounted for and are complete before leaving the home site in our trucks.

This is the hardest part of the work day first and foremost, all drivers help each other load each other s truck to help share the burden but after this quick load out period the day gets far easier and more streamlined. Drivers, from here, head down the highway east to designated sites in small rural communities for local pickups, these sites are rotated amongst the drivers based on how many totes (back work) the individual driver experiences the day before to best ensure drivers are not over worked and burnet out at the end of the shift. Once the driver reaches the local pick up site, they park and set up for the day. Over the course of a 5 hour day at the site customers will arrive at the site for their orders in designated one hour windows. At this point it is the duty of the driver to create the friendliest and most enjoyable experience possible. From a friendly smile to loading the customers car as if the groceries belonged to their own grandmother, taking care at every step to ensure the quality of not only the food but the experience as a whole.

During this time drivers may have to think on their feet and could be presented with problems that they will have to find solutions too out in the field. Anything from customers not having an order number, to customers showing up during a certain window, even trouble shooting refrigerator unit issues on the truck that can and will come up while at this pick up site. With a wealth of resources and other experienced drivers to call a pawn, though these issues may at first appear daunting they will eventually reveal themselves to very minor at the end of the day. Once the truck is fully unloaded, the driver will return to the MT, Carmel home site to unload, fuel, and park their truck ready for the next shift to do it all again. First shift starts bright and early at 5:30 AM and runs until 1:30 PM. Second shift begins right where first leaves off at 1:30 PM and operates until 9:30 PM. Both shifts run Thursday-Monday. With plenty of opportunities for extra days and overtime along with guaranteed hours, this job not only offers a steady paycheck but opportunity to learn, grow and expand as the Kroger Hometown Pick up operation goes nationwide. Requirements

• A driver s license and clean record.
  
• Any forms of cdl are sought after.
  
• Any forms of box or commercial driving experience is beneficial.
  
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
  
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Background check.
