The Assoc Fraud Ops Analyst is an entry level position responsible for assisting in efforts to ensure fraud risk policy and controls are applied to minimize the impact of fraud incidence and prevent loss in coordination with the Fraud Operations team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in managing fraud losses by ensuring analysts make appropriate decisions using risk/reward balance methodology.Responsibilities:Follow investigative standards for analytical assessmentsCase/referral assignment based on levelComplete end to end internal investigative reportsProvide tactical analysis through referral management, linking events and data quality management.Identify any process gaps, contributing systemic and technical root causesAdministrate fraud referrals from various Citi businesses, external financial institutions, and Law Enforcement agencies; identifying, building, linking and escalating cases to management for review and/or assignmentGather data, conduct research and provide analysis of information and data from a variety of sources, both internal and external to the business, to identify, support investigations and determine fraud trend activity, schemes and organized ringsProduce reports and provide analysis for more complex cases either as an individual or as part of a teamSupport other Retail Bank Fraud Operations or businesses requiring assistanceQualifications:Previous US Intelligence, military, law enforcement, law firm or government service background3 year fraud analytical experienceUnderstanding of processes and procedures to include the collection, examination, and analysis of dataDemonstrated writing and communication skillsExperience in data analysis and interpretationKnowledge of financial products, frauds and trendsExperience working in an in-house investigations teamProficiency in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, & SharePoint for compiling written reports and spreadsheets on an investigationKnowledge and Skills RequiredExcellent oral communication skillsGood report writing skills to accurately articulate the circumstances and events of the investigation -Good analytical skills needed to assess evidence, identify relationships and develop leads in an investigation -An ability to multi-task, demonstrated attention to detail with ability to manage caseload and produce accurate, concise analytical reports -Solid judgment and decision making skillsAbility to present data, information or findings -Knowledge and Skills PreferredExpresses ideas or facts in a clear, concise and open mannerCommunication indicates a consideration for the feelings and needs of othersActively listens and proactively shares knowledgeHandles conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common groundEvaluates data and courses of action to reach logical, pragmatic decisionsTakes an unbiased, rational approach with calculated risksApplies innovation and creativity to problem-solvingOpen to change and flexible in a fast paced environmentPerformance is consistent, even under pressureAlways pursues continuous improvementsEffectively adapts own approach to suit changing circumstances or requirements.Demonstrates understanding of the impact of own role on all partners and always puts the end beneficiary firstDevelops and implements sustainable strategies on how to perform their role, with an eye on improvement based on changes needed or refinement of approach2nd language skillsOther RequirementsFlexibility to work on call off hours/weekends during critical project phases, if necessaryBachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience-------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Operations - Services-------------------------------------------------Job Family:Fraud Operations------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Citigroup Inc. and its subsidiaries ("Citi") invite all qualified interested applicants to apply for career opportunities.
