Job Description:

The Purchasing/ Inventory Control Specialist performs all aspects of purchasing for the company and for managing the inventory, distribution, and control of those items. The Specialist is an essential part of purchasing team and must identify the products that are to be purchased, identify the most appropriate supplier for the products, confirm all aspects of pricing, confirm all deliveries, and maintain an inventory control database.Core Responsibilities
-- Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for production and office products
-- Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determine availability, perform comparative pricing, and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products, and establish delivery requirements/timelines
-- Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (POs), pricing verification, complete entries into accounting system
-- Input and maintain online database of all products; maintains daily inventory update
-- Identify and resolve all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery
-- Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments, reports large inventory adjustments to leadership team
-- Update company on any new products that may be more efficient or cost effective, obsolete products, product trends
-- Conduct audit of inventory records, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management
-- Ability to work within a team atmosphere, and follow departmental processes and procedures
-- Clear communication via email, phone, along with interpersonal contact with designers and manufacturing

-- This is a fast paced, high-volume job that requires the ability to work with many different personalities on different levels
-- Position requires the ability to adapt between interacting with designers and manufacturing personnel

Knowledge and Skill Preferences
-- Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing and inventory control management
-- Proficient in database management
-- Experience analyzing inventory and reporting any data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, and solutions
-- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgment
-- Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written
