Job Description:
Position Summary The Production Drafter position is an integral
part of CIP Retail's design, development, and manufacturing
operation. The position utilizes a combination of both
architectural and mechanical thinking to create drawings used for
production. Your drawings will become the blueprints for our
manufacturing team and will guide our teams through the process of
completing each item. This role can vary from reproducing basic
signage prints for a large program to helping develop new and
cutting-edge methodologies for custom one-off locations. Critical
thinking and attention to detail are major components of this
position because your success will directly affect the overall
success of each project. The position offers the opportunity to
step into the commercial retail design world and work on stores
locally, nationally, and even internationally in some instances.
Core Responsibilities · Create detailed shop drawings for project
related items to be utilized for manufacturing. · Lead project
meetings to discuss materials that will need to be purchased for
the project. · Ability to explain the engineering documents to the
shop foreman and team leads. · Follow the project through
manufacturing. · Ability to take ownership of a job and learn all
documents inside & out and produce production drawings. · Creating
drawings by using architectural elevations, renderings,
manufacturing method notes from the existing field conditions. ·
Ability to work within a team atmosphere, follow department
procedures, and follow directions given. · Clear communication via
email, phone, along with interpersonal contact with designers and
manufacturing Additional Notes · Adheres to all company policies,
procedures, and business ethics codes · This is a fast paced,
high-volume job that requires the ability to work with many
different personalities on different levels. The position requires
the ability to adapt between interacting with designers and
manufacturing personnel. There is a necessity to follow instruction
and procedures along with the ability to adapt for fluctuating job
circumstances. Knowledge and Skill Preferences · Associate degree
with architecture, AutoCAD emphasis, preferred · Solid AutoCAD,
architectural/mechanical drafting skills (currently running AutoCAD
2021)· Ability to learn Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator,
preferred · Good Microsoft Office skills and ability to use
Smartsheets, preferred · Good communication skills, including
writing, phone etiquette, and interpersonal · Very well organized
and able to work on multiple projects · Professional demeanor,
