Job Title: Packaging Operator2nd Shift 3:50pm- 2am - Starting Pay Rate: $17.50GENERAL JOB SUMMARY for the Packaging Operator:Responsible for equipment operation of assigned areas.Responsible for accurate documentation of required paperwork to assure that all personnel are following Safety procedures and guidelines.Responsible for starting Packaging Line on time. Responsible for all HACCP documentation required.Responsible for operating Baggers efficiently (GEA, Client MAC or Doy Machine)Responsible for assembling and adjusting scales.Responsible for film roll change, film size web tracking.Responsible for Tape Machine-Height and size adjustments.Responsible for Case Weigher if applicable. Responsible for Weight Right if applicable.Responsible for Code Date on the bag and the case.Responsible for Metal Detectors/X-Ray on the line.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the Packaging Operator:Work as a team with other packaging operators to safely and efficiently run packaging line.Must be able to follow and understand specifications sheet and production schedule.Must be able to operate all required equipment needed for specific lines.Must be able to neatly and precisely complete any paperwork required by specifications sheet.Must follow food safety, GMP, and HACCP procedures.Responsible for maintaining a high level of housekeeping on the packaging line.Must be able to develop and coach general laborers to improve overall product quality.Must be able to pick up film dailyMust be able to lift up to 70lbs on a consistent basis.Must do other Task if necessary (stack boxes on a pallet or pack product)Knowing size of clear bag/printed bag with the proper adjustments.Must be able to correctly label and palletize all finish product.Must look at ways to reduce film material waste, floor loss and identify ways to improve the process.Must notify production of any product quality issues in order to segregate any affected product.Must follow all USDA regulations and communicate effectively with USDA.KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Qualifications) for the Packaging Operator:Must have a positive attitude.Ability to communicate effectively with other departments.Ability to train and coach new operators.Must be able to work as a team.Must be willing to learn across all production lines.Must possess proven math skill in calculating net weight and portion counts.Determining good product from seconds or rework.Communicate well with box makersMust be able to work with minimal supervisionNo Lifting RestrictionsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES for the Packaging Operator:Attend packaging operator meetings/trainingMaintain an excellent attendance recordCommunicate problems, improvements, or changes with operators, supervisors and or managers of other shiftsAny other duties as deemed necessaryApply Today#peoplefirststaffing(513) 794-5039
