Element has an opportunity for a Digital Product Manager (Ecommerce). Reporting to the Commercial Excellence Director, Americas, the Commercial Product Manager is responsible and accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of Element's commercial digital products, specifically ecommerce. This includes the development of the commercial digital product strategy through product design, development, implementation, and ongoing operations.


  • Own the end-to-end ecommerce product vision and develop strategy from concept to production
  • Develops and manages the product roadmap, demonstrating expertise at the product group level, building partnerships with relevant stakeholder teams, and making trade-off decisions for multiple products or product groups
  • Leads the product planning process across one or more product groups by overseeing the development of requirements documents (user stories with acceptance criteria, use cases) for products or product releases
  • Actively research the market, competitors to understand digital offerings that impact on customer and colleague experience
  • Create detailed product requirements and backlog based on the product vision and product strategy
  • Use agile methodology and work as the business lead for the scrum team (scrum master, architect, development teams) to maximize delivery of business value to internal and external customers and to ensure successful on-time delivery of the product
  • Understands interrelationship of business and technical functionality and uses this knowledge to identify related and dependent items; prioritizes dependencies and groups related items into themes where practical
  • Plan and Prioritize the product requirements based on the business / customer needs
  • Create and manage the product backlog
  • Create user stories and related acceptance criteria that are very clear, concise, and understandable to support the development and efficient implementation / deployment
  • Gather the user feedback, evaluate the feedback and create / update requirements based on the feedback
  • Approve each feature and continuously communicate with technical, business teams and customers as appropriate to ensure adherence to product vision and to proactively evaluate risks
  • Work with the communications team to develop and execute internal and external communication strategies
  • Work closely with fellow Product Owners with the goal of ongoing knowledge transfer and continuous improvement of product management processes and best practices; evaluates data collected through task analysis, business process observation, surveys and workshops to determine process improvement opportunities
  • Identify, procure and manage external suppliers to design, develop and deploy the product

Skills / Qualifications

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities for the role at this time
  • The Product Manager will be responsible for influencing others without direct reporting line relationships
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3-5 years' experience, or equivalent, in digital product management, preferably ecommerce
  • Experience in a startup-type environment before and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and fluidity within technical needs
  • Strong leadership & collaboration skills to get the best out of the most knowledgeable colleagues and external consultants
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong problem solver, comfortable with both strategy development and diving into extreme detail
  • Proven experience interacting with senior level / executive & operational customers, IT development, and consulting teams, vendor development teams, local and remote resources
  • Can handle multiple top priorities at a time, and can work with very time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proven ability to understand, represent and communicate customer pain points, needs and perspectives
