Job Description Job Description BC Forward is looking for Control System Engineer in Indianapolis, IN 46225 Position Title: Control System Engineer Location: Indianapolis, IN 46225 Duration: 12 months contract Work Schedule & Location Hours: 7:30–8:30 start until 4 or 5 Hybrid: 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) Travel: 1 week per month to Lafayette (varies; some integration sessions may cause variation). If closer to Lafayette, candidate may work there more regularly (up to three weeks per month). Pay Rate: $55.00/hour (W2) Top 3 Skills Controls Systems experience including software-centric systems (HVAC/Engine/Brake Systems/Gas Turbine) System requirements development; electronic engine control systems experience transferable into Cameo Configuration Management with rigorous system tracking Role Summary The Control System Certification Engineer is part of the Software Systems Capability function. The role liaises with control system development engineers and airworthiness authorities to create certification work products that satisfy the certification basis of the program. This includes creation of requirements, design, verification, and traceability evidence for lifecycle data created during development of the control and monitoring system. Key Accountabilities Capture evidence of requirement validation, use cases, design constraints, quality, safety, and security attributes in certification work products. Collaborate with development teams to establish understanding of certification plans, work product standards, and configuration management. Establish report generation methods to collect life-cycle data and publish for delivery to airworthiness authorities. Implement improvements to certification work products with feedback from program and airworthiness stakeholders. Liaise with other disciplines to understand relationships between various types of life-cycle data. Key Experiences and Qualifications Experience in airborne system development and certification. Working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines. Proficient in requirements management, design, and analysis tools. Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk regarding product suitability, safety, and functional appropriateness. Ability to interpret certification evidence and provide conclusions on correctness and completeness. Ability to manage tasks to completion while keeping relevant business areas informed. Ability to evaluate certification evidence for objective coverage. Experience sharing certification data with airworthiness authorities. Ability to seek solutions and information beyond immediate area, including suppliers, customers, and certification guidance. Skilled in team-oriented, collaborative environments.
