Job Description:
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our
rapidly expanding team. As a member of the Business Improvement
Team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and
non-routine project assignments under minimal direct supervision.
These projects typically consist of software support for Element
built test frames and IoT solutions to improve the capability and
productivity of Element lab function. Some travel to other Element
locations will be required. The engineer position must be
proficient in a number of core business and technical skills
including but not limited to compliance to established safety
rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Support existing Element built test machines. These machines
utilize B&R Automation hardware and software. Developing new
capabilities within the existing system will be a priority
Support and continue to develop IoT solutions for Element assets.
Element utilizes home-built IoT hardware and software and
supplements this with OEM solutions. Currently, myDevices is used
for hardware and software servicesHave the ability to work on
well-defined issues, standard and/or routine projects, without
significant guidance or supervision
Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for
further instruction
Able to decide on and implement appropriate design methods and
protocols
Maintain close guidance of advanced Engineers within Element and
via external sources to work on well delineated technical issues
including standard and routine analysis
You will work closely with the following teams: Element IT, Element
Data Science, Element Software Engineers, Element Operation
Excellence, Individual lab General Managers and their supporting
staff
Skills / Qualifications
Strong knowledge of industrial automation and controls.
Experience with B&R Automation is a bonus, but advanced
experience in the automation and controls field is required
Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories,
concepts, terminologies and boundaries of industrial automation,
controls and IoT
Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within
the context of Element's business
Can analyze and troubleshoot software and control systems
Possess strong computer skills, including experience in Structured
Text, HTML, Java and C(+,#,etc)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Basic experience with IoT solutions, both hardware and software
Any related hobby skills in programming, circuits and control
applications would be a bonus#LI-SL1
