Golden Heart Senior Care is looking to add to their team of dynamic and energetic caregivers! We offer flexible schedules and a positive working environment. Our clients live primarily in north Dayton but we do have some that reside in Huber Heights, Englewood, Springfield, Beavercreek and Eaton. Services provided by Golden Heart Senior Care . These are the tasks that families trust us to deliver to the person in need (client). These are also the tasks that you would be expected to perform as a caregiver. Most clients do not require all of these tasks to be performed daily; however, you would have to be able to perform these tasks when needed. If you feel you cannot perform these tasks, we have training available to help you learn. Companionship. One of the most important aspects of Home Senior Care will be providing customers with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create true sense of companionship. Whether it is playing a favorite board game or card game, reading, taking a stroll or visiting with friends and neighbors, companionship provides the depth of our services.
Housekeeping, Laundry, and Pet Care. Our caregivers provide dusting, washing hardwood and flooring, vacuuming carpets and furniture, changing bedding, scrubbing the bathroom; pre-washing, washing, drying, ironing and folding laundry; defrosting refrigerators/freezers; cleaning ovens/stoves and china cabinets; caring for house plants; taking out garbage and general tidying of living spaces as required or requested. It also includes caring for pets including grooming, feeding, exercising, walking, playing, cleaning up after the pet.
Personal Care. This includes assisting with grooming needs such as hair care, shaving, cleaning teeth/dentures; supervising or assisting with tub baths, showers, sponge baths, and bed baths; assisting with dressing and undressing; assisting with mobilization activities including turning, transferring, exercising, and walking; assisting with toilet and/or commode needs; assisting with eating or feeding. It also includes reminding the client to take their prescription medications. It does not include cutting of toenails or fingernails and changing dressings.
Kitchen Work. Grocery shopping, preparing menus and meals, cooking, baking, serving, assisting with eating, washing and drying dishes and general tidying up is included. Transportation and Escort. A caregiver may drive their own car and transport a client to an appointment or errand if the caregiver has written authorization from the company to do so. The caregiver may also escort the client to appointments or errands providing a helping hand or shoulder to lean on. Caregivers are reimbursed for mileage on their cars when performing these tasks. MANDATORY Caregiver Qualifications: You must have these qualifications to be considered for a caregiver position. Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation. It is extremely important that you have reliable transportation so you can arrive, on-time for each shift. All applicants must successfully pass a DRUG SREENING and BACKGROUND CHECK . Our clients and their families trust us to be in their homes. Ability to work independently. You will not have a supervisor or co-worker with you at the client's home each shift. Our supervisors will make spot inspections frequently. Excellent communication and listening skills. Each shift, you will be required to follow and complete a "plan of care" designed for the client. Your responsibility will also include documenting (writing) a brief recap of the shift activities and your observations. Compassionate, patient and caring nature. Able to work in a stressful environment. In some situations, the client is 100% dependent upon us to provide them with assistance and support. Poor care is NOT an option. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving. In some situations, you may be required to assist with transferring the client to a chair or toilet. This requires the correct training and skills; it also requires the physical strength to perform these duties.
Helpful Qualifications: These are not required to be considered for employment but they are helpful
STNA or CNA Certification CPR Certification Previous senior caregiver experience Licensed Social Worker or Physical Therapy assistant
Hours of Work and Location Golden Heart Senior Care offers services to clients 24 hours per day 7 days per week. It is important that we understand the number of hours per week, days and times you are available to work. Once we understand what you are looking for, we can give you a better idea of the hours we have available. We service the entire Dayton Ohio area. Most of our current clients live in suburbs such as, Centerville, Miamisburg, West Carrollton, Kettering, Beavercreek and Huber Heights. We expect that if you say you are available for work certain days and times, that we can schedule you for work on those days/times. If we find that your availability is always changing or you decline shifts when you previously said you were available, it is very difficult for us to schedule you consistently. Reliability The clients we serve expect us to arrive, on-time, ready to work for every shift scheduled. If you require the help of babysitters or others to free you up for work, your arrangements for babysitters must be in place, along with a back-up. We guarantee our clients that we will arrive on-time for every shift regardless of weather, vehicle breakdowns or caregiver family situations.
