Locum Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery – Springfield,
OH Are you a seasoned Nurse Practitioner specializing in
cardiothoracic surgery seeking an exciting locum opportunity? Bon
Secours Mercy Health invites dynamic, experienced NPs to provide
vital coverage at Springfield Regional Medical Center. This role
offers a unique chance to contribute to high-quality patient care
within a reputable healthcare organization while expanding your
professional expertise in a stimulating environment. In this
pivotal position, you will assist in complex surgical procedures,
oversee patient care coordination, and conduct clinical assessments
for adult and geriatric patients. Reporting to a Cardiovascular
Surgeon, you will help maintain seamless surgical workflows and
uphold exceptional patient outcomes. The role encompasses OR call
and ICU/CVICU call duties, with a flexible schedule from April to
July, specific dates to be determined. You will primarily work with
patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular procedures,
utilizing the Epic EMR system to document and interpret test
results, order tests, and facilitate patient management. Required
Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license with appropriate
certification Prior experience in cardiothoracic or vascular
surgery, critical care preferred; no new grads Strong clinical
assessment and decision-making capabilities Proficiency with Epic
EMR system Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and coordinate
complex care plans Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to respond effectively during OR and ICU/CVICU call Nice to
Have Skills: Experience with vein harvesting and vascular tissue
retrieval (not required) Previous experience working with adult and
geriatric populations Bilingual capabilities are a plus Preferred
Education and Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of advanced practice
experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery Active state APRN
license and hospital privileges Prior exposure to OR and ICU
settings Other Requirements: Credentialing process expected to take
60-90 days; temporary privileges may be granted in approximately 45
days Willingness to participate in OR and ICU/CVICU call rotations
Must have or be able to obtain relevant certifications and
