working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in
Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: 7:00
PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in Labor &
Delivery required, Postpartum and Nursery experience required
License: Active Ohio or compact license required Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, NRP (all must be through AHA and active) Must-Have: BSN
degree preferred Description: Demonstrates ability to perform a
head-to-toe assessment on patients and conduct reassessments as per
policy. Demonstrates ability to assess and reassess pain using
appropriate evaluation methods. Utilizes appropriate pain
management techniques and educates patients and families on pain
management. Demonstrates ability to develop and revise the plan of
care based on patient response to treatment and evaluate the plan
daily for effectiveness. Performs patient care responsibilities
considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients’
age. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development
over the life span and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate
care. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct
administration based on patient age and clinical condition. Follows
the five medication rights to reduce the potential for medication
errors. Formulates and activates teaching plans based on identified
learning needs. Evaluates effectiveness of learning, including
family in teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates ability to perform
services requiring technical and manual skills. Demonstrates
ability to perform services within the scope of licensure and seeks
guidance and direction on issues beyond scope of knowledge and
responsibility. Treats patients and families with respect and
dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic,
and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families. Functions
as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and
other healthcare providers. Interacts professionally with patients
and families. Involves patients and families in formulating the
plan of treatment. Performs all aspects of patient care while
establishing and maintaining a safe environment for patients and
families to reduce the likelihood of healthcare errors. Consults
other departments as appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary
approach to patient needs. Communicates appropriately and clearly
to colleagues and physicians. Maintains good working relationships
within the unit and with other departments. Identifies and
addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families. Communicates
regarding in-hospital and post-discharge plans and needs.
Documentation meets current standards and policies. Manages and
operates equipment safely and correctly. Coordinates and supervises
patient care as necessary. Demonstrates flexibility, organization,
and the ability to function in stressful situations. Performs and
maintains annual competencies. Performs and maintains annual
