and valid nursing license is required Certifications: ACLS, BLS,
NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience is required Must have
experience managing patient assignments and leading team huddles
Candidate must be able to float to different units as needed
Description: This is a designated charge role in the ICU. The
charge nurse will oversee both ICU and medical-surgical patients as
needed on one floor. Responsibilities include making assignments,
leading huddles, ensuring audits are complete, and updating safety
sheets. The charge nurse will attend team meetings and is expected
to float to other units when required. Staffing ratios are
typically 1:2 for ICU patients and 1:3-4 for patients in the PCU.
The unit offers a variety of patient diagnoses, including heart
failure and respiratory failure. The role includes managing various
equipment such as ventilators and monitoring devices.
Interdisciplinary support is available from multiple services,
including physical therapy and pharmacy. The charge nurse should be
proficient in various critical care skills and maintain a high
standard of patient care. Candidates must work two out of three
major holidays. Floating is a requirement for all staff members.
