Neuro ICU experience Comprehensive assessment skills Care of
hemodynamically unstable patients Care of mechanically ventilated
patients Thorough neurological assessment skills Description: The
position involves providing critical care to patients in a neuro
ICU setting. The unit specializes in the management of ischemic and
hemorrhagic strokes, post-operative craniotomies, seizures,
encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors. Registered Nurses will
provide care to a range of patients, with ratios varying between
1:1, 1:2, and 1:3. The role requires proficiency with equipment
including Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, and
Neuroptics Pupillometer. Experience with floating to other
inpatient areas when the home unit has low census is required.
Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and
empathy to effectively work as part of a team. Preferred skills
include familiarity with pupillometers, EVD, ICP waveform
management, CRRT, and electronic medical record systems.
