Description: The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops,
coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services
related to behavioral and biomedical science. The position involves
applying knowledge and techniques to prevention, diagnosis,
treatment, and rehabilitation. Within the scope of practice, the
provider performs psychosocial interventions with clients. This
includes individual, family, or group intervention, such as
counseling, testing, and education of the client. The provider is
responsible for developing intervention goals and objectives
designed to educate and resolve client issues. The role includes
participating in the establishment, implementation, and evaluation
of treatment system goals and objectives. Interviewing clients and
their families is essential to establish case goals and objectives.
Clients are assessed to determine specific intervention techniques
and to monitor responses to the treatment system. Feedback on the
effectiveness of prescribed treatment is provided. The provider
evaluates cases of lower-level behavioral healthcare providers and
client progress. Maintaining necessary data documents to satisfy
requirements of federal, state, and local agencies is required.
This includes preparing social histories, admission/aftercare
summaries, and court documents. The provider serves on treatment
and program development teams. Attendance at training meetings and
intradepartmental meetings is expected. Establishing and
maintaining working relationships with various facilities and
agencies for referrals and follow-up services is essential. The
role may involve exposure to clients who could be potentially
