Skills/Experience: Cardiac PCU experience CABG experience
Description: This position specializes in an Intermediate/Step Down
Cardiac Unit. The unit focuses on post-operative care for Coronary
Bypass Graft and Valve surgeries. It also manages patients with
chest pain and dysrhythmias, as well as pre/post Pacemaker/AICD
placements. Care provided includes patients recovering from
catheterizations and managing congestive heart failure. The unit
has 16 beds with patient ratios of 4:1 or 5:1, increasing to 6:1
when floated to other units. The equipment includes IV pumps and
chest tubes. Electronic medical records are maintained using
Cerner. Candidates should be comfortable with post catheter sheath
removal. Experience with cardiac drips such as Amiodarone,
Cardizem, Primacor, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Heparin is preferred.
Team orientation is essential for success in this environment.
Dress code requires scrubs in galaxy blue. This position does not
