Job Title: RN PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: - IV insertion - Blood draws - PICC/Central Line management - Neuro Assessment skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the PCU. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Every other weekend is required. The unit has a patient ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity and staffing. The top diagnoses include stroke and transplant procedures. Common equipment used includes dynamaps, bladder scanners, and Dopplers. The RN will be required to titrate medications such as Insulin, Cardizem, Nitro, heparin, Amiodarone, and pulmonary hypertension drips. Time-critical medications for transplant patients will also be administered. EPIC charting will be utilized. The scrub color is galaxy blue. Good workplace culture is emphasized, and there is flexibility with schedules. Staff members are treated like core staff.
