experience 2 years RN experience Description: Shift is 6:45 PM to
7:15 AM, with every other weekend required. Candidates must possess
BLS and NIH certifications. Telemetry experience is essential.
Registered Nurse job description summary includes a minimum of 2
years of acute care RN experience. Education requirement is a
Diploma or Associate degree. Candidates with certification are
preferred. Required skills include IV insertion, blood draws,
PICC/central line management, dialysis fistula care, obtaining 12
lead EKGs, cardioversion/defibrillation, epidural/PCA pump
management, feeding tubes, continuous bladder irrigation,
chemotherapy administration, wound VAC management, and chest tube
care. The unit provides cardiac telemetry and mixed acuity care. It
offers fast-paced cardiac care and serves as a great learning
environment. The unit has a maximum of 59 total beds. Patient
ratios range from 4:1 to 6:1. RNs must be able to read telemetry
strips and titrate medications. Common diagnoses and procedures
include cardiac catheterization and stress testing. Common
equipment includes dynamap and telemetry monitors. Common
medications administered include Milrinone, Dobutamine, Heparin,
and Amiodarone. Scrub colors are Norton Galaxy blue, with Norton
T-shirts and tennis shoes; tennis shoes are not provided. Charting
is done using EPIC.
