Warehouse Manager Company/Location: A quality manufacturer of corrugated and folding carton packaging since 1960 located in Fairfield, Ohio Job Type: Full-Time, Salary Work Hours: First Shift - 6:30am to 2:45pm (other hours as needed) Availability: As issues impacting the fulfillment of business objectives develop, the ability to work overtime or weekends and respond to requests to be at the facility as needed to correct issues impeding the completion of customer orders. Summary: Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Your Contribution: Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current. Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HPPI policies and applicable laws. Analyze all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies Analyze the financial impact of proposed changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product mixes, or carriers Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, and quality Oversees and directs the duties of all warehouse employees, including performance management and disciplinary actions. Manages and/or executes the miscellaneous item purchasing duties. This will include all items except paper raw materials. This will include processing requisitions into purchase orders; distributing copies; verifying the accuracy of items received; matching all receivers with purchase orders; forwarding matched receivers to accounting for payment; expediting needed items as requested; and administrate all persons involved in the purchasing process to ensure efficient operation. Abides by all American Institute of Baking (AIB) and Honeymoon Paper Products Inc. (HPPI) quality and safety standards As needed, carries out the tasks of either the Receiving or Shipping Forklift Operators (i.e. work overload, vacations, etc.) Desired Characteristics and Requirements: Desirable characteristics to perform this manufacturing job successfully in Fairfield, Ohio. Bachelor's degree; or 2-3 years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have valid driver's license. Must be able to complete company forklift certification. Performs all job duties within established safety guidelines Capable of reading a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences Conduct addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Can perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance Capable of dealing with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Physical Requirements and Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Discern audible instructions or verbalize directives While performing the duties of this job, the warehouse team member is regularly required to stand, use hand/fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
