Job Description:
Job Summary:Perform accredited calibrations on a wide variety of
electronic, thermodynamic, dimension, and mechanical measuring test
equipment per the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation
(A2LA). Supervisory Responsibilities:Will manage calibration
services of the lab and will function as a "working
manager."Duties/Responsibilities:Set up and perform
manual/automatic calibration and testing process for a wide range
of dimensional and/or electronic gages.Required
Skills/Abilities:Understand basic principles of Metrology and
familiar the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST)General familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO/IEC17025 Quality
SystemsInteract with internal and external customers to answer
questions and calibration related informationMechanically
inclined.Work with Customers on, internal and External audits,
scheduling, and calibration tracking.Quote delivery, price, and
availability of calibration servicesPerform contract review when
necessary, during order acceptance.Oversee receiving and
check-in.Oversee Material handling, scheduling, and
expediting.Oversee the everyday activity of Calibration Technicians
in the LabInterface with Quality/Technical Manager regarding
returns and corrective/preventative actionsGood written and oral
communication skills as well as computer skillsStrong interpersonal
skills, ability to work on a teamSelf-starter, proactive,
productive, punctualWilling to travel to local and regional on-site
locations daily (overnight as needed)Willing to work overtime and
weekends as needed.Perform calibration of various gages as
approved.Ensure environmental controls in the lab are adequate
before performing calibrations.Preferred
Skills/Abilities:Associates Degree from a technical school in
machining, die making and tooling or calibration related discipline
or mechatronics, and/or three--years related experiencePrecision
Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) trainingMET/CAL experience
Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentAt least
three--years' related experience requiredPrecision Measurement
Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) training preferredPhysical
Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.PPE as needed
(steeled toes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves)Prolonged
standing requiredBending, kneeling, walking requiredBenefits
