Descriptions: Essential Function: A hands-on and experienced
individual that has developed and managed the introduction of new
technologies in the supply chain area. This position will have
significant responsibilities in delivering objectives, development
of a high-performance team, and building strategy for the Supply
Chain function. Responsible for all activities related to sourcing
direct materials, indirect materials, capital equipment, and
services both international and domestic. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Development and deployment of new suppliers for
critical technology in a fast-pace, high mix, low volume
environment. Strategic planning for the supply chain organization
including people development. Continuity planning and risk
mitigation. Experience in supplier development and management.
Development of outsourcing capabilities for capacity flexibility,
lead time reduction, and cost savings. Development of plans and
metrics for annual cost savings. Manufacturing experience with
strong mechanical aptitude in an operation producing tight
tolerance, precision, copy-exact parts. Understanding of advanced
materials such as silicon, quartz, silicon-carbide, and sapphire.
Experience setting up integrated logistics streams and supply chain
networks. Experienced communicator with the ability to communicate
critical thinking ideas and concepts. Experienced relationship
builder capable of creating, negotiating, and effectively managing
supplier partnerships to drive value to the business. Strong
communicator capable of developing and delivering compelling
arguments and presentations. Travel to Asian countries as necessary
for procurement. Understanding of tech documents (i.e. blue
prints/drawings). Write effective reports on development of
progress of projects. Application of Lean Manufacturing concepts,
including 5S. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the
Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality
Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate Follow all
company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to
Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of
Manufacturing. Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and
5S. Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or
assignments. Perform other duties as assigned by department
management. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requires a
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent with
a minimum of 15 years of related experience; or 12 years related
experience and a Master’s degree. Ideally 10-plus years experience
specifically in a supply chain role with progressive
responsibility, and a minimum spend of $50M. Experience in an
organization using lean manufacturing principles. Proven ability to
gain partnerships and excel on a cross-functional team with
product, manufacturing, quality and reliability engineers as well
as procurement, finance, and product support. Experience in
procurement and supplier management required. Proficiency in the
use of personal computers to include knowledge in the use of the
Internet and software programs such as Microsoft Office products
and ERP systems. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures
or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, suppliers, customers, and the general public. Ability to
calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and
volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve
practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to work effectively
individually and in a team environment. Must be able to pay close
attention to details. Must be able to perform successfully under
minimum supervision. Must be able to attain sufficient task success
to establish credibility with management, staff and employees.
